Geo4Nature Living Lab is an environmental innovation ecosystem coordinated by GEOSTUD in Romania. The Living Lab brings together biodiversity monitoring and studies, environmental engineering, geotechnical expertise, environmental monitoring, research institutions, public authorities, businesses, NGOs, and local communities to develop, test, and validate solutions in real-life conditions.
Building on GEOSTUD’s accredited laboratories, field infrastructure, environmental monitoring capabilities, and extensive experience in European projects, Geo4Nature supports innovation in climate resilience, biodiversity conservation, ecosystem restoration, sustainable land management, and nature-based solutions.
The Living Lab operates through a network of demonstration areas, environmental monitoring sites, ecosystem restoration projects, laboratories, and digital platforms. It provides opportunities for co-creation, field experimentation, environmental data collection, citizen engagement, and long-term monitoring.
Geo4Nature actively participates in European research and innovation initiatives, including Horizon Europe, LIFE, Interreg, Biodiversa+, EIT RawMaterials, and EIT Water projects. Through collaboration with researchers, public authorities, industry, and civil society, the Living Lab aims to generate practical, evidence-based solutions that contribute to environmental sustainability and resilience at regional, national, and European levels.
