Since 2010, our Urban Living Lab has been pioneering free and open-source methods and tools that prioritize citizen and urban user engagement in city transformation processes. Our approach seeks to foster a dialogue between professionals and civil society. We believe this is essential for achieving transformative changes and building new trust towards sustainable lifestyles through co-construction. Our efforts have been recognized with several awards, including the European Commission’s Open Cities prize for our Unlimited Cities visual and textual intelligence tool. The tool’s international reach was significantly boosted when it was selected as a good practice by the UN-Habitat agency at the Habitat III conference in Quito in 2016. Since then, Unlimited Cities has been utilized in regions such as China, South America, Africa, and Europe.
