The Open Innovation 2.0 Forum welcomed innovation experts, policy-makers, people from academia and citizens in the vibrant city of Amsterdam, on the 23rd and 24th of May 2016. The 2016 edition of the event was held under the label of the Dutch EU Presidency and co-organized by the European Commission DG CONNECT’s Open Innovation Group (OISPG). It gathered more than 300 people around the following action-oriented themes: Open Innovation 2.0 and Digital Single Market, ePlatforms, Data-Driven Innovation, Urban Agenda, Future Cities, Living Labs and Business Challenges.

During these days the ENoLL General Assembly meeting was organized for ENoLL members (on the 23rd of June). The Assembly finally approved new 10th wave members and official announcement was made the day after during the conference making it a great moment to bring together the wider ENoLL network. The ENoLL Chair was in fact on stage on the 24th of May to present new members to the audience. Their entrance in ENoLL was also promoted at the ENoLL stand, visited by around 150 people during the 2-day conference, and a dedicated 10th wave brochure was handed to many participants.

Then, the 2016 Innovation Luminary Awards took place during the gala dinner and in that occasion six world-shaping innovators, organizations and companies were awarded for their achievements. Dr. Tuija Hirvikoski, President of ENoLL and Director at Laurea University of Applied Sciences, was awarded with the Innovation Luminary Award for Open Innovation Infrastructure Creation on behalf of the Living Lab movement. As a part of the event, ENoLL had the pleasure to collaborate with conference organizers to bring participants an innovative session on the future of Living Labs: “Living Labs Network as a Future Backbone for Digital Single Market.” Around 50 interested participants attended the session and a very active dialogue with speakers allowed answering many questions on Living Labs and their current/future relevance in open innovation processes.

Finally, the conference ended with ENoLL 10th anniversary celebration ceremony: conference participants joined the ENoLL President, team and members in celebrating 10 years of the Living Lab community during a thrilling final drink! See more pictures here: http://bit.ly/1PDF4vw
