Scientific Day and Open House by CRIR Rehabilitation Living Lab in the mall (RehabMaLL)

CRIR Rehabilitation Living Lab in the mall (RehabMaLL), active member of ENoLL, is organising a Scientific Day and Open House to showcase their acheievements since their launch in 2011. The event will be held on November 3rd 2015 in Montreal, Canada.

CRIR Rehabilitation Living Lab in the mall (RehabMaLL), active member of ENoLL, is organising a Scientific Day and Open House to showcase their acheievements since their launch in 2011. The event will be held on November 3rd 2015 in Montreal, Canada.

In 2011, the Centre for Interdisciplinary Research in Rehabilitation (CRIR) received funding from the Fonds de recherche du Québec – Santé to start the RehabMaLL project. This project began through a unique collaboration with Cominar REIT, the owner of the shopping mall, and the synergistic activity of researchers, service providers, community organizations, public and private partners and the public. Over the past four years, and using a living lab approach of co-creation, we have strived to change the indoor physical and social environments to become more inclusive to the young and old, especially to those with disabilities.

The day will begin with a presentation of an overview of the RehabMaLL achievements since 2011, and their impact on the mall, on practices and on policies. Our community of practice will then lead a discussion on participatory research. The morning activities will be followed by a lunch during which a poster session presenting the student projects of the RehabMaLL will take place in the Alexis Nihon towers lobby. The afternoon continues with a visit of kiosks in the mall where researchers and collaborators will present their research in an interactive and stimulating manner. The day will end with a celebratory and networking cocktail to thank all of our collaborators.
