OpenLivingLab Days 2015 concluded at the end of August in Istanbul, Turkey, with the announcement that Montreal would be the next host city of the annual summit of the worldwide Living Lab community.
Organised by the ENoLL, the annual 4 day event includes interactive sessions, workshops, networking, lively discussion panels with excursions and off-site visits with the aim of giving the participants a wider insight about models, theories and technologies related to Living Labs. The hosts of the Montreal event will be Communautique and Concordia University, in collaboration with Tourisme Montreal, the Quartier de l’innovation, members of the Quebec Network of Living Labs and France Living Labs. The event will serve as an opportunity to address, among others, the theme of «inventive aging and ‘Silver economy’» as part of a « Aging Fair » orchestrated by Communautique and Ageing, Communication, Technologies (ACT), a research network housed at Concordia University.
Montreal prides itself as a city of knowledge, and by hosting OpenLivingLab Days 2016 the city will demonstrate its collective ability to mobilize citizens for advancement of issues that are shaping our futures. We look forward to hosting the wider ENoLL community & Living Lab enthusiasts in late August 2016 in Montreal.
About our Hosts: Communautique and Concordia University
Communautique is a precursor for the arrival of Living Labs in Montreal, and has greatly contributed to the renown and advent of Fab Labs in Quebec. Communautique opened échoFab, the first Fab Lab in Canada, and co-developed the Fab Labs Québec network. Communautique is the initiator of the « Matière grise QI2025 » project, an ecosystem dedicated to the « silver economy», the economy by and for seniors.
Communautique has chosen to partner with members of the Ageing, Communication, Technologies (ACT) research network at Concordia University who are assisting Communautique with the organization of the event and providing space and infrastructure for this event, and contributing to the intellectual and creative development of activities. Concordia University, a visionary and progressive university dedicated to creativity and citizenship, is located in the heart of Montreal and is an ideal co-host for this event.
