One of the most appreciated initiatives was Les Labos, experimentation area used by companies and public institutes to co-create and improve products/services with users. The Labos had the ambition to bridge the gap between users and companies thanks to an innovation tool based on user experience. Booth scenography was designed to highlight different experimentation phases and display how a product/service comes alive. A tailored protocol guided users throughout the experimentation and a survey was finally circulated to collect feedback and ideas. A number of national/international companies like Carrefour, Yamaha and SIGVARIS participated by proposing projects at different development stages, from prototypes to concept services to final products.
These co-creation spaces were visited by around 60.000 visitors provoked intense, thought-provoking discussions with visitors. Users could test products/services and share feedback to the professionals in a dynamic, open environment. Discover more on the event website (in French).
Then, during La Biennale ENoLL and the Design for Europe initiative co-organised “Design for Europe – Making a connection”, a session on design and Living Lab methodologies that took place on April 1st. The workshop, aiming to connect design professionals, design initiatives, Living Labbers, policy makers and industry, brought together different European design-led initiatives with strong user engagement component to reflect upon how users can contribute to design-oriented innovation development.
