In May 2019, new support team led by BluSpecs in partnership with CIVITTA and ENoLL, started working with the European Commission services and the stakeholders of the Digital Skills and Jobs Coalition (including the national coalitions, the Governing Board, members and pledgers) with the common goal of tackling the digital skills gap in Europe.
We will support students, companies, and research institutes to participate in the Digital Opportunity Traineeships, providing students a possibility to gain hands-on working experience in the digital fields.
The team has started to shape the action plan from June until December 2019. Its work emphasizes actions to support the scaling of the coalition membership, the engagement of the National Coalitions, the scaling up of pledges and to support the Digital Opportunity Traineeships (DOTs).
Regarding the National Coalitions, the team will provide an analysis of the current state and priorities for the National Coalitions. For the scaling up of pledges, the focus will be on doing a mapping exercise of the existing pledges and the common indicators for different types of pledges. The aim is to contribute to the renewal of individual or collective pledges from existing pledgers and to boost motivation to follow up on implementation of the pledges.
Finally, there will be an analysis of the opportunities and challenges of the DOTs. The main websites where traineeships are offered (ErasmusIntern or Drop’pin) will have an additional helpdesk for traineeship providers and applicants.
