The European Committee of the Regions organised a Forum on the EU Urban Agenda in the Westergasfabriek in Amsterdam on Monday the 30th of May 2016. The event will be organised together with the Association of Netherlands Municipalities, the Association of the Provinces of the Netherlands, the City of Amsterdam and the Province of Noord-Holland.
The Forum on the EU Urban Agenda brought together representatives of local and regional authorities, EU institutions, Member States and relevant stakeholders to discuss the concrete steps needed to implement the EU Urban Agenda and to improve the urban dimension in EU policy making. ENoLL attended the event and run a booth in the exhibition area, presenting living lab activities and thrilling initiatives like Design for Europe to around 100 participants.
Moreover, ENoLL President Tuija Hirvikoski was invited to speak on stage during the main parallel workshop on “Smart and Innovative Cities”. During her intervention Tuija Hirvikoski presented the ENoLL view on urban development reflecting upon collaboration between cities and local partners such as enterprises, knowledge institutions and Living Labs in a triple-helix ecosystem to stimulate innovation in close collaboration with citizens.
